Welcome from Eurovision Sport

Dear Broadcasters

Welcome to Östersund, a special place in the world of Biathlon due to its amazing facilities and outstanding organization. We all still fondly remember the IBU Biathlon World Championships in Östersund earlier this year. Now we want to ensure the World Cup event is even so memorable.

To get the right content to the right audiences at the right time and on the right channel, Eurovision Sport and Eurovision Services will provide a multi-outlet content production, enrichment and distribution service. The Eurovision Near-live Clipping & Web Publishing service will make content available within seconds. What’s more, innovative new formats that are more viewer-friendly include: A fully immersive Virtual Reality app and video content creation solutions to enrich viewers’ second-screen experiences.

The host broadcaster is SVT, one of the EBU’s 117 member organizations, always delivering world-class services to visiting broadcasters and producing top-end coverage for our rights holders around the world. Following the previous success of their remote production services, SVT will continue to increase and refine these facilities at Östersund. Together we will also implement Immersive Production using four cameras with 180° or 360° views in key areas like the start/finish line and the shooting range.

Along with Eurovision Sport, the Swedish Biathlon Federation, the LOC, the city of Östersund and numerous other parties, we especially want to convey our enormous gratitude to the numerous volunteers. They add so much to the event and make the World Cup a pleasure for all involved.

Welcome and enjoy what will be another memorable and exciting 9 days of Biathlon at its best.
